The Milton School District engaged independent consultants to review its special education services and its systems for supporting student learning and behavior. The purpose of this work was to examine current practices, identify strengths, and better understand areas that may warrant further consideration as the district plans for the future.
The School Board heard the findings of the Special Education consultant on December 17, 2025, and the findings of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) consultant on January 21, 2026. The reviews focused on district-wide structures and processes related to student support, using professional standards and observed practices as reference points.
Summaries of both consultant reports are provided below to share the key themes and observations presented to the Board. These summaries are intended to inform the community and support a shared understanding of the work underway to meet the needs of Milton students.
