Making real-world connections, a share from Jules Luca, Class of 2026.
On September 26th, I visited St.Catherine's Church in Spring Lake NJ for a wedding. It was a beautiful church and what was even more beautiful was the interior. It was so awesome that I could recognize what architecture it was because of my ELO. I am learning about the history of architecture, and I could identify that the church was Romanesque Architecture. Included is a picture I took after the wedding was over. Sadly I could not get any on the inside of the church because pictures weren’t allowed. The wedding was gorgeous and the building, designs, and structure of the church were jaw-dropping.
Romanesque architecture is known for its massive quality, thick walls, round arches, sturdy pillars, barrel vaults, large towers, and decorative arcading.

Students in Ms. Lewis' forensic science class display a level three depth of knowledge by taking a series of skills they are learning and applying them to solve a problem... Who is the Diet Coke Thief?

Mr. Eibert took his Algebra class outside to put math into motion. We were working on solving one-step equations using the real-world example of distance = rate times time or d=rt. Students were measuring the time and distance being run/walked/moonwalked and then determining the rate of speed.

Attention Skiers and Snowboarders.
If you are interested in participating in the ski and snowboard club at Gunstock this January, Pick up a pre-registration packet in the main office.
Space is limited and this is first come first serve. Please reach out to Mrs. Currier with any questions.

The Biology class makes weekly tree observations from September to November. We observe six different species of trees, both deciduous and coniferous, and record an estimation of leaf color change and leaf loss. This data will be used to create a lab report that will answer questions about the different strategies tree species have for winter. Pictured are some of the biology students with Mrs. Pratt.
Did you know?
The yellows and oranges are always present- they're just hidden.
Just because chlorophyll is dominant during the summer months doesn't mean the other colors aren’t still there. The beautiful yellows, oranges, and rusty browns that we associate with autumn are present in leaves year-round—they’re just outnumbered. The yellows come from xanthophyll, a helper pigment that assists the chlorophyll with photosynthesis. The oranges come from beta-carotene (the same one of pumpkin and carrot fame), and the brown shades come from tannins that protect the leaf tissue.

The High School Volleyball games scheduled for this Wednesday, September 25th, have been moved to tomorrow, Tuesday, September 24th.
